Emergency Services
Help when you really need it the most. Emergency Services are programs targeted toward families facing crisis situations. These services assist low-income individuals and families with pressing immediate needs. Crisis Intervention Services are designed to provide a one-time utility payment, in situations that prevent cut-offs, and/or emergency shelter assistance to prevent homelessness; avoid the incidence of eviction and foreclosure; procurement of emergency food to minimize malnutrition. Low-Income Heating Assistance Program provides a one-time payment assistance towards a client’s utility bill. The program is in effect from November to July. First come, first served… What to Bring?

Scana Referral Regulated Marketer The State of Georgia and Coastal Georgia Area CAA has partnered with Scana Energy to make it easier for clients to receive natural gas in their homes. This program is designed to assist clients with having deposits waived, as well as assist with payment arrangements for past due bills. Clients receive a special rate for natural gas service. Commodity Foods Distribution Program is designed to alleviate hunger in the Agency's service delivery area. Coastal Georgia Area CAA distributes Commodity Foods twice a year. Limited to one bag per household. Clients may pick up for two other households (not including themselves). Please bring identification. Rental/Mortgage Assistance is a crisis intervention program designed to assist clients with payments towards past due rent or mortgage. Funds are available to aid clients who are in danger of eviction, foreclosure or homelessness. Funds allocated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are utilized. Each county FEMA board (Bryan,Camden, Liberty, and McIntosh) determines participation and amount to be awarded, and payments are generally made directly to the applicable vendor.
